Team Members
Statalog lets you invite other people to access your analytics data. Each person gets their own login and is assigned a role that controls what they can see and do.
Roles
There are three roles:
Owner The account owner has full access to everything: all analytics, all settings, billing, and account management. There is exactly one Owner per account. Ownership can be transferred to another team member from Account → Team.
Admin Admins can view all analytics data, manage sites and their settings, configure goals and funnels, set up webhooks and integrations, and invite or remove other team members. Admins cannot access billing or change the account's subscription plan. This role is appropriate for a trusted developer or analytics manager.
Member Members can view analytics data for all sites in the account. They cannot change any settings, add or remove sites, configure goals, or manage the team. This is a read-only role, suitable for stakeholders, clients, or executives who need access to the numbers but should not be able to change anything.
Inviting a team member
- Go to Account → Team.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Select their role (Admin or Member — Owner can only be set via transfer).
- Click Send Invite.
Statalog sends an email invitation to that address. The recipient must click the link in the email to accept the invitation and either create a new Statalog account (if they don't have one) or log in to an existing one. Once accepted, they appear in the Team list with their assigned role and gain access immediately.
Invitations expire after 7 days. If the recipient does not accept within that time, you can re-send the invitation from the Team page.
Removing a team member
- Go to Account → Team.
- Click Remove next to the team member's name.
- Confirm the removal.
Access is revoked immediately. The removed member cannot view any analytics data after this point. Their account is not deleted — they retain their Statalog login and any other accounts they belong to.
Agency use case
If you are an agency managing analytics for clients, you can invite each client as a Member so they can view their own site's data directly without needing to contact you for reports. Because the Member role is read-only, clients cannot change your tracking configuration, delete data, or view other clients' data.
One Statalog account can manage multiple client sites. Each client receives a Member invitation scoped to the same account, and all sites in that account are visible to them. If you need to restrict a client to only their own site, create a separate Statalog account for that client and transfer site ownership — there is currently no per-site access restriction within a single account.
FAQ
Can a team member have different roles for different sites? Not currently. Roles are account-wide, not per-site. All team members can see all sites in the account.
Can I change someone's role after inviting them? Yes. Go to Account → Team, click the role badge next to a member's name, and select a new role. The change takes effect immediately.
What happens to a team member's access if the account subscription lapses? If the account downgrades to a plan that does not support team members, existing invitations are paused and additional team members beyond the plan limit cannot be added. Check your plan's team member limit in Account → Billing.
